Living room paint color is the first thing that comes to mind when you want to create a certain look for your living room. However, there are other things that you need to be concerned with other than paint.
For example, here are three things that you need to think about first before you go on and choose the paint color that you want:
SIZE AND PROPORTION
First of all, you need to be aware of the size of the room that you are redecorating. Then, you need to determine if the size of the room is fit for the purpose that you intend it to be. After making sure that the room size is all right, and then you need to make sure that the proportions of the room is okay.
Proportion is how one element interacts in relation to the whole look. Placing big furniture in a tiny room is a very bad idea because it will only make the room look smaller than what it already is.
LINES
Lines, just like color, evoke extra meaning and add a certain mood to the room. Using lines and then accenting them with the proper paint colors will create a very powerful combination.
Vertical lines give the sense of formality and stability while horizontal lines makes you feel relaxed and warm. Diagonals and curves on the other hand are great if you want to create the illusion of movement.
BALANCE
Balance refers to the balance in how the look of your room weighs on different sides. This is not referring to the physical weight, rather how the room weighs on the eyes of the viewer. A room that is too heavy means that there are too much elements involved. A light room means that the design is minimal and soothing.
Remember that these three things are just as important in changing the feel of your living room. The proper utilization of these concepts will greatly increase the effects of your living room paint color.
